Dr. Malaka Badri, DO

Board-Certified Interventional Specialist

Pain Medicine & Venous Disease

Dr. Malaka Badri is a board-certified interventional specialist with a clinical and academic focus on pain medicine and venous disease. A nationally recognized physician, she currently serves as the Medical Director of CURA Vein & Pain Centers. As an interventional pain and vein specialist, Dr. Badri is highly skilled in performing advanced, minimally invasive procedures designed to relieve pain, restore function, and improve quality of life.

A proud New Jersey native, Dr. Badri brings both clinical excellence and heartfelt compassion to her practice. She earned her degree in Biomedical Engineering from the prestigious New Jersey Institute of Technology before obtaining her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she graduated with highest honors and ranked among the top of her class.

She completed her Internal Medicine Internship at NY-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, followed by a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at the renowned New York University Langone Medical Center. During residency, she trained under leaders in interventional medicine, was honored with the Resident of the Year Award, and founded a Board Review Committee to mentor and support junior physicians.

Dr. Badri went on to complete an Interventional Pain Fellowship affiliated with the North American Spine Society, where she received advanced training in spine procedures and minimally invasive skeletal and vascular interventions. During this time, she developed a particular interest in venous interventions due to their overlap with lower extremity pain — giving her a uniquely comprehensive perspective when evaluating and treating patients.

She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is frequently invited to speak on interventional pain and venous disease. While her credentials are impressive, patients often describe Dr. Badri as something even more meaningful — a “sweet, kind soul” who truly listens and genuinely cares.
